ABOUT

On the 25th of May 1961, the Tekapo Ski Club Incorporated was officially formed.

Bruce Scott, David Allan, Dick Wardell, Don Prouting, John Dampier-Crossley and Brian Waters, then took on the massive task of discovering potential fields using such criteria as snow conditions, access safety from avalanche dangers and most importantly, run holder co-operation to make a final decision.

Bruce recalls there were four finalists, Cass Basin on Godley Peaks Station, Tekapo Saddle on Mt Hay Station, Coal Creek Basin on Lilybank Station and Round Hill on Richmond Station and the best option?
